Positions we are currently hiring for:

Senior Web Developer

Berman and Company, a dynamic research, communications, advertising, and government affairs firm, seeks a senior-level Web Developer to join our in-house web development team. We maintain roughly 80+ websites on behalf of multiple high-profile clients and regularly launch new custom websites for campaigns/projects.

The Senior Web Developer will work with and lead a team of in-house and contract developers to ensure client needs are met on-time. They will also coordinate with the graphic design team and other in-house teams to complete projects from site outline to wireframing to production to QA.

This role is also responsible for ensuring all ongoing, maintained websites are updated from both a security standpoint as well as a technical standpoint. The right candidate will have a passion for beautiful, cutting-edge design as well as the ability to communicate with internal and external stakeholders on project requirements, progress, and deadlines.

This position features many opportunities for the right candidate to take ownership over projects and be rewarded for entrepreneurialism. Candidates who want to use their creativity to make exciting, complex, and even controversial ideas resonate with the public should apply.

REQUIRED SKILLS

DESIRED SKILLS

  • Experience with other PHP-based CMS’s and frameworks beyond WordPress is a plus (Drupal, Laravel, CodeIgniter, etc.)

  • Experience with other database management systems such as PostgreSQL, SQLite, and MS SQL
  • Experience in front-end development: HTML, CSS, JavaScript

Communications and Research Associate

Berman and Company is a dynamic, energetic, and creative company looking for someone to assist the communications department with writing, research, and media relations.

At Berman and Company, our goal is to change the debate. The ideal candidate needs to be a strong writer who can juggle multiple projects. The candidate must have the ability to spot a hook that can be used to bring attention to complicated or niche issues and then turn that hook into compelling, easy-to-digest arguments.

Our communications associate will focus on writing and media relations, but must also be comfortable conducting research, speaking with stakeholders, and brainstorming creative ideas that may be outside the realm of writing. The team will also rely on this person to assist with assignments like copy editing, mailings, or data entry.

What You’ll Do:

  • Draft op-eds, blogs, video scripts, white papers, and press releases;
  • Assist with managing and recruiting members of policy coalitions;
  • Manage media relations for multiple projects, including placing op-eds, speaking with reporters, and maintaining press lists;
  • Build, cultivate, and maintain relationships with reporters;
  • Assist staff with copy editing or brainstorming;
  • Conduct research ranging from daily media monitoring to more in-depth policy research.

What We Would Like to See:

  • Previous professional writing experience for a general audience;
  • Curiosity, positive attitude, and self-motivation;
  • Excellent phone etiquette and internal communication skills;
  • Strong attention to detail;
  • Politically inclined with a belief in promoting free enterprise and limited government;

Social Media Strategist

Berman and Company, a dynamic research, communications, advertising, and government affairs firm, seeks a social media strategist to join our team. Berman runs social media and paid digital for a wide range of high-profile clients and advocacy campaigns, and we’re always adding more.

The social media strategist will collaborate across internal teams to develop and implement engaging social content for a variety of clients. They will also assist with other digital tasks including advertising, website content updates, and email.

The ideal candidate will have demonstrated the ability to consistently provide creative content, grow organic social media accounts, and understand how to make the ever-changing algorithms work for clients across platforms. Experience in paid promotion is also a plus.

What You’ll Do:

  • Create new and manage existing social media accounts for a variety of clients
  • Develop edgy, eye-catching social media creative and strategies that will make our clients’ account stand out
  • Collaborate with video and design teams to create original creative content
  • Create insightful reports with quantitative and qualitative metrics
  • Run Facebook, Twitter, and Google Ad campaigns
  • Draft and send emails from MailChimp or similar
  • Other digital communication projects as needed
